Rabbi Lev and Sue Horowitz will lead Congregation Kol Halev’s annual interfaith Tu B’Shevat service with our friends from Trinity Church of Austin as our special guests and with EJ Cohen, ASL Interpreter, interpreting some of the music and teaching us how to sign one of the songs.
Tu B’Shevat is the 15th of the month of Shevat. Since Jewish months begin on a new moon, this is a full moon holiday recognizing nature, the seasons, and our connection to the land. We celebrate with fruits and nuts that tie us to the Middle East. They remind us that the earth and our storied roots are intertwined.
To enhance your experience of the holiday, there are some ritual items to gather for the Zoom. They can all be easily found in any grocery store or through ordering for delivery.
